A comedian once joked: "My wife left me recently. She said it was because I didn't listen to her... at least that's what I think she said. The game was on." Funny statement, maybe, but not a funny concept. Divorce is so very common in our country, to the point that it's often referred to as an epidemic. Why do so many marriages end long before "death do us part?" Obviously, there are many causes for divorce, and there are certain circumstances where it is often the only option: desertion, physical abuse or repeated affairs to name a few. But all too often people just give up on their marriage before it is necessary.
