Motorists traveling through Two Harbors on Minnesota Highway 61 at Sixth Street will be restricted to a single lane, one direction at a time, controlled by a temporary signal Monday, Sept. 24, through Thursday, Sept. 27. The single-lane section is only a few hundred feet long at Sixth Street. The traffic restriction is necessary as crews work on a deep storm sewer pipe. Temporary concrete barrier will separate traffic from the work area.

I would like to say “thank you” to the police department of Two Harbors as well as the medical examiner, rescue squad and Cavallin Funeral Home. You all were very helpful and supportive on Aug. 2 on the death of my husband, Carl Holm, at Burlington Campground. Your kindness was very much appreciated. Margy Holm Cokato, Minn.
I bought several newspapers to read the editors’ opinions that followed the Boston Globe’s call to defend the importance of the freedom of the press. Two of the three that I read, in my opinion, deserve recognition: the Lake County News-Chronicle (“A free press is our protection from tyranny,” Aug. 16) and the Star Tribune of Minneapolis (“A unified response to attacks on press,” Aug. 16).
The people of Silver Bay and North Shore were left out of this meeting (“Public voices transportation vision,” Sept. 7). Most of the people of Silver Bay and those traveling Minnesota Highway 61 want a bypass around Two Harbors. On Fridays, you can’t get through Two Harbors going north, and on Sundays, traffic is backed up past the first tunnel. Why? Bypass, bypass. Curt Anderson
