Two people were injured when their vehicle was struck head-on near the Lafayette Bluff Tunnel on State Highway 61 in Silver Creek Township on Tuesday morning.
A sport-utility vehicle was severely damaged after catching fire while traveling south on the Highway 61 Expressway, just south of Two Harbors, on Friday afternoon. The fire sent a plume of dark smoke into the sky before being quickly extinguished; no injuries were reported, according to Two Harbors Fire Chief Mark Schlangen. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
