Swimming tops Superior, competes at North-South Meet

Two Harbors-Silver Bay dominated Superior at a meet last week winning 110-62 over the Spartans.

Senior Allie Mayfield won the 200 yard individual medley in two minutes, 27.11 seconds and the 100 yard butterfly in 1:05.5. Julia McDonald won the 100 yard freestyle in 59.53 seconds and the 50 freestyle in 26.77 seconds. Marina Schreiner won the 500 yard freestyle in 5:49.01 and was joined by fellow Agates Katarina Hanson and Riley Larson in taking the top three spots in the event. Kari Haaversen also won the diving competition with a final score 211.4 and led Mara Christensen and Mia Lawson in another top three sweep for Two Harbors.

The medley relay team of McDonald, Haaversen, Schriener and Kate Thomasen won the 200 yard freestyle relay in 2:04.76 and the 200 freestyle relay team of McDonald, Kylee Overby, Hanson and McDonald won in 1:47.95.

At the North-South Meet, Mayfield won the 200 IM in 2:25.86 and Haaversen won the diving competition with a score of 190.1.
