The Heritage Days 5K kicked off the annual festival Thursday, July 11, in Two Harbors.

Jill Morberg led the runners on the run, which started by the Two Harbors Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast and meandered its way through the city for more than 3 miles before returning to the start.

Logan Alger of Lakeville, Minn., was the top finisher for the men with a time of 19 minutes, 33 seconds. Tom Peterson of Knife River was the top local finisher with a time of 21:33. He finished sixth overall.

Emily Soley-Johnson of Lake Geneva, Wis., won the women’s race in 21:24. Brenda Swanson of Two Harbors placed third with a time of 22:35.
