Nordic skiing: Storm to compete at JV level this season

The North Shore Storm Nordic ski team will compete at the junior varsity level during its 2018-19 season.

The Storm, a second-year cooperative team between Two Harbors and Cook County high schools, have about 20 skiers signed up in Two Harbors alone. All but one, however, are in seventh and eighth grades, coach Kevin Hudson said, and the team is choosing not to compete at the varsity level.

Hudson said there are a handful of skiers in Grand Marais, but they are also very young.

This is the second consecutive season North Shore has competed at the JV level.
