North Shore's season came to an end with a 7-1 loss to Greenway in the Section 7A tournament semifinals Tuesday, Feb. 19, in Coleraine.

The Titans opened up a 4-0 lead before North Shore got on the board with a Will Olson goal 7 minutes, 21 seconds into the second period.

Greenway junior Ben Troumbly recorded a hat trick with a goal in all three periods and four total points to lead the Titans.

Goalie Cameron Roy stopped 41 shots for North Shore.

North Shore (7-15-3) won just three games over the first two months of the regular season, but came together win four of its last seven and lost just twice. The run included a 4-1 win over Eveleth-Gilbert in Coach Mike Guzzo's final home game before retiring Thursday, Feb. 14, in Silver Bay.

The Storm struggled in close games throughout the season. In the nine games and where North Shore was tied or trailed by one goal in the third period, the team was just 2-7.

Guzzo said weather not only played havoc with his team's schedule of games, it also cost the team practice time that could have been decisive in close games.
