The links were full of players that varied from serious golfers to those that pick up the clubs once a year for the annual Lake County Chamber of Commerce Golf Scramble Monday, Aug. 5, at Lakeview National Golf Course in Two Harbors.

The annual scramble started late due to storms passing through, but once the sun came out, golfers enjoyed a well-maintained course and plenty of fun side games that offered prizes, an advantage in the competition or sometimes a quick lesson.

The winning team as well as the teams in 10th and 20th places won gift certificates for more golf at Lakeview. The top team, from Two Harbors Federal Credit Union, had a total score of -28. Team members included Greg Helgeson, Kevin Graden, Mike Graden and Kevin Bislow.

The team from Stanley LaBounty took 10th place and Castle Danger’s team was 20th.

Northern Wilds Magazine in Grand Marais offered a fly fishing tutorial and North Shore Inline offered a free entry to anyone who could chip a golf ball into an inline skate.

The Chamber allowed golfers to tee from a better position based on how far they could hit a marshmallow with a putter. Stanley LaBounty allowed teams to tee off from much further up the fairway based if all four team members could chip a ball into a net set up on the hole.
