Two Two Harbors seniors signed their national letters of intent Wednesday, Dec. 19, to play NCAA Division I sports next year.

Steven Keech signed to play football with the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. A 6-foot-5, 245-pound defensive lineman for the Agates' first state playoff team since 1977, Keech was the seventh Two Harbors player since 1945 to play in the Minnesota Football Coaches Association All-Star game Saturday, Dec. 15, at U.S. Banks Stadium in Minneapolis.

Keech led the Agates with 22 tackles for a loss and also recorded 66 total tackles in 2018.

Senior Gracie Komarek signed to play hockey for Grand Canyon State University in Phoenix. Through 11 games this season, Komarek has scored three goals and recorded eight assists for the North Shore Storm.

Jamey Malcomb

Jamey Malcomb has been a reporter for the Pine Journal since October 2018. He previously worked as a reporter for the Lake County News-Chronicle from 2015-2018. Malcomb is a native of North Carolina and holds a bachelor's degree in English and history from the George Washington University and a master's degree in education from George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. Malcomb moved to Minnesota in July 2012 and worked as a sports clerk and news assistant at the Duluth News Tribune.
