Girls basketball: Mariners snag first win

Silver Bay won its first game of the year with a 48-46 win over Northeast Range on Monday, Dec. 10, in Silver Bay.

The Mariners outscored the Nighthawks 17-12 in the first half and held them off in the second to secure the victory.

Junior Lily Lewis led Silver Bay with 17 points and Corrina Marolt score 10, including two 3-pointers.

Shayler Lislegard scored 17 to lead Northeast Range.

Silver Bay will play at Carlton on Friday, Dec. 14, at 4:45 p.m.

Jamey Malcomb has been a reporter for the Pine Journal since October 2018. He previously worked as a reporter for the Lake County News-Chronicle from 2015-2018. Malcomb is a native of North Carolina and holds a bachelor's degree in English and history from the George Washington University and a master's degree in education from George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.
