Baseball: Carlton blanks Silver Bay

Silver Bay batters were baffled by Carlton junior pitcher Ryan Gray in a 6-0 loss Thursday, May 2, in Carlton.

Gray pitched a complete game, allowing just three hits and striking out eight in the win.

Mariner pitcher Riley Riboni was solid, allowing seven hits and three earned runs in the loss. Mariner junior Lucas Stadler was 2-for-3 with a double in the game.

Silver Bay freshman Manor Ollman pitched well Monday, May 6, against Ely, but the Mainers fell to the Timberwolves 5-4.

Ollman allowed four hits over four innings and struck out eight, but his four walks hurt Silver Bay.

Sophomore Ero Wallin had two hits and two RBIs and Tiboni was 2-for-2 with a run scored.

Silver Bay (4-5) is scheduled to host South Ridge 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 9.
