North Shore boys, girls win Polar League

The North Shore Storm boys and girls both won the Polar League title at the conference meet Wednesday at Pincushion Mountain in Grand Marais.

The Storm girls swept the top three spots at the meet, with Autumn winning the race in a time of 21 minutes, 2 seconds, Cedar Gordon in second two seconds later and Louise Ramberg finishing third in 21:24.

All five North Shore boys finished in the top 10 at the meet, with senior Jake Paron winning in 16:46 and Noah Smith finishing third in 16:56. Brenden Seipke finished eighth in 17:47, Will Surbaugh was ninth in 17:54 and Isaac Swanson was 10th in 17:56.

The North Shore boys also won the Class A meet at the Swain Invitational Saturday at Enger Park Golf Course in Duluth, with Paron finishing second in 17:40.1 and Smith was 10th in 18:07.3.

The Storm will next run at the Section 7A meet Oct. 26 at Cloquet Golf Course.
