Volleyball: Agates top Eveleth-Gilbert at tourney

Two Harbors junior Tori Bott returned from a sprained ankle to make six kills in a 25-20, 25-22, 15-13 win over Eveleth-Gilbert at the Two Harbors Invitational Sept. 30.

In addition to Bott, Ali Gelineau had 14 set assists and Makenna Coan had 12 digs.

After the win against Eveleth-Gilbert, Two Harbors lost to Mesabi East 21-25, 23-25, 13-15 with Bott making nine kills and 10 digs. Coan had 11 digs and Ali Gelineau had 16 set assists.

In the last game of the day, the Agates lost to Proctor 25-14 and 25-14. Bott and Brenna Gelineau each had four kills.

On Tuesday, Two Harbors lost to Floodwood 25-21, 27-29, 25-19 25-20. Bott had 17 kills and four blocks and Ali Gelineau had 23 set assists and four ace serves. Coan and Brenna Gelineau each had 18 digs.

Before Bott returned, on Sept. 28 Two Harbors lost to Cook County 25-7, 25-7 25-14. Coan had 14 digs and Brenna Gelineau had 11 digs.

Two Harbors (2-15) played McGregor Thursday, too late for the News-Chronicle's deadline, and will play Lakeview Christian Academy at 7 p.m. Monday in Two Harbors.
