Soccer: Two Harbors blasts Mesabi East

Nine different Agates scored in Two Harbors' 10-0 win over Measbi East Wednesday afternoon in Two Harbors.

Morgan Beardsley, Sami Szendrey and Kaija Schlangen all scored in the first 10 minutes of play and the Agates would score six goals in the first half and add four more in the second.

Szendrey would add a second goal in the second half and Elisa Galyen, Ashleigh Swanson, Carina Hebl, Elise Poe-Johnson, Sydney Haugan and Callie Swanson all scored one goal in the game.

Callie Bergerson needed to make only one save to secure her fourth shutout of the season.

On Sept. 30 against defending section champion North Branch, Szendrey scored off a corner kick in the sixth minute, but the Vikings scored eight unanswered goals to walk away with an 8-1 victory.

Two Harbors (5-6-4) will play its final home game of the regular season against Hibbing-Chisholm at 5 p.m. Monday in Two Harbors. A win would give Two Harbors a home playoff game Thursday afternoon.
