Glenn Beckman passed away from neuroendocrine cancer on April 30, 2019, less than two weeks before his 85th birthday, at a nursing home in Chaska, MN. He was born in Brimson, MN, on May 12, 1934, and was raised by his parents, Ted and Irja Beckman, longtime residents of Brimson. Glenn attended Two Harbors High School and the University of Minnesota, where he studied electrical engineering. He served in the Army before joining the Federal Aviation Agency, and he retired from the FAA in 1994 after serving 34 years. His FAA career included stints in Waterloo, IA; Hibbing, MN; Fargo, ND; Green Bay, WI; Chicago, IL; and for the last 16 years he was the Airway Facilities Sector Manager at the FAA in Minneapolis, MN. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, by his brother Donald, and by his loving and supportive wife of 53 years, Doloris (Kosbau) Beckman, who passed away in March of 2015. Glenn is survived by a niece, Ginger (Paul) Downing; three nephews, Donald (Helen) Beckman, Scott (Terri) Beckman, and Ross (Sherry) Beckman; and several cousins. A graveside service for Glenn will be held at noon on May 11th at the Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, IA.
