The South St. Louis Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), North St. Louis SWCD and Lake County SWCD are hosting a community water meeting, "Cloquet River Watershed: Prime for Protection," about the Cloquet River watershed following the release of the Cloquet River Watershed Monitoring and Assessment Report by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) in July.
The meeting is Dec. 11 from 2-4 p.m. at the Fredenberg Community Center and Township Hall, 5104 Fish Lake Road, Duluth. The meeting will include a presentation, question-and-answer session and free lunch.
Many popular recreational lakes, including Pequaywan, Indian and Island, are located in the Cloquet River watershed. The goal of the meeting is to provide information on the MPCA's Monitoring and Assessment Report for the watershed and to familiarize the public with the basics of the MPCA's Watershed Restoration and Protection Strategies process.
