The Two Harbors City Hall council meeting room was filled Monday, Oct. 28, with friends and family members of two new police officers. Officers Dylan Jindra and Terrance Gavic were sworn in by Mayor Chris Swanson.

“This is a true pleasure. As a mayor, we get certain fun duties and this is definitely an honor to be able to swear in a couple of new officers to the city of Two Harbors tonight,” Swanson said.

Gavic was hired to a full-time officer position and Jindra was hired as a part-time patrol officer in early September.

Chief Rick Hogenson reflected on the addition the officers made to the team.

“Terrance and Dylan have been a great addition. They’re so willing to listen, so willing to learn and very excited to be part of our community,” Hogenson said. “They’re super valuable to what we do and I want to thank you folks for making them part of our department.”
