A pair of establishments have agreed to serve suspensions following liquor license infractions last month, including a five-day suspension of liquor sales and a $1,000 fine for the Viking Bar in Morcom Township outside Cook.
The Viking Bar was alleged to have "after-hours sale and consumption" on Sept. 7, according to St. Louis County Board documents.
The Clearwater Grille and Bar in Duluth Township will also serve a one-day suspension on Oct. 28 for sale to a minor on a day in September. The Viking Bar will serve its suspension Nov. 25-29.
The St. Louis County Board is expected to authorize the penalties at its meeting in Hermantown on Tuesday.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office submitted the violations to the county attorney's office and county auditor. Both establishments agreed to the suspensions in order to stay heftier penalties.
Any violations within the next four years will trigger added penalties for the Viking Bar, 12501 Highway 22, including an additional $1,000 fine and 55-day suspension.
For the Clearwater Grille and Bar, 5135 N. Shore Drive, the board has agreed to stay a $1,000 fine and nine additional days of suspension, provided the establishment has no similar violations within the next year.
Penalties were recommended to the board by its liquor licensing committee.
