The Silver Bay City Council approved the new logo and color scheme for the Black Beach Campground during a meeting Monday, Aug. 5.
City Administrator Lana Fralich said the selection process started with 12 designs. That number was whittled down to four designs that were presented to the campground committee.
Ultimately, the third design featuring two pine trees, wavy lines representing the beach and a cursive font was selected by the committee for the council's approval.
The council approved the logo and color scheme 4-1 vote; councilor Carlene Perfetto was the one dissenting vote.
"I do not vote for anything that supports tourism," Perfetto said when asked why she voted against the motion.
