60 Minutes in the Superior National Forest

Don’t let the winter weather trap you indoors. On Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. learn how to access, use and appreciate everything the Superior National Forest has to offer. The presentation will be led by Steve Robertson, educational specialist from the Tofte Ranger District.

Evening Book Group

The group will be discussing the book "Two Old Women" by Velma Wallis on Monday, Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. The story is based on an Athabascan Indian Legend, passed from mothers to daughters in the upper Yukon River Valley in Alaska. It is the suspenseful, shocking and ultimately inspirational tale of two old women abandoned by their tribe during a brutal winter famine. Copies of the book are available at the library front desk for checkout. Everyone is welcome to borrow a copy and join in the discussion!

Afternoon Book Group

Participants will be discussing the book "The Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 1 p.m. The first book in The Kingsbridge Series, the book is a rather hefty tome and the story on which the TV mini-series of the same name was based. Copies of the book are available at the library front desk for checkout, so make sure you pick up your copy early enough to be ready for the discussion. And, for those who like to supplement their reading, the library does have a copy of the DVD set as well. Enjoy!
