On Monday, Janelle Jones was named president of the Two Harbors Area Chamber of Commerce.

Jones worked as the tourism director for the chamber for a number of years. She and her husband Brad own Jones Cleaning and Professional Building Services in Two Harbors and have two children, Macey and Brjen. Her husband is also the county commissioner for District 3.

Jones is a well-known face around the community. She grew up in Two Harbors and boasts countless community involvements. She's a board member of the Two Harbors Youth Hockey Association and served on the North Shore Scenic Drive Council. As the mom of two active kids, she's busy on the soccer and baseball fields, the hockey rinks and the track.

Jones will take over in the first quarter of 2014 after Gordy Anderson retires.

"I am very excited to step up and continue the forward thinking and progression of the THACC. Whether it is manufacturing, medical, hospitality or tourism, we are so blessed to have so many diverse opportunities right here on the North Shore, I can't wait to get out and work with the business community," Jones said.

Jones will take over for Anderson, who boasts 19 years in the position.

"I know I have big shoes to fill as Gordy steps down, but I am looking forward to the exciting challenges it brings," Jones said.
