Lorraine Erickson-Driver is a 1964 Two Harbors graduate who suffered a stroke while in church at Temple Baptist in New Bern, N.C. She grew up in Larsmont Township before moving to Shakopee, Minn., in the late 1960s.

Her eldest daughter, Joyanne Newgard, is requesting Erickson-Driver's fellow alumni send her holiday cards to lift her spirits during her stay in the hospital. Cards can be sent to: Post Acute Medical, attn: Lorraine Driver, Room 228, 1051 Noell Lane Rocky Mount, NC 27804.

Newgard is also planning a spaghetti dinner fundraiser and silent auction for early April in Shakopee to help cover her out-of-pocket medical expenses and possible medical transport.

When: Friday, April 3, 6-10 p.m.

Where: Shakopee VFW Post 4046, 1201 Third Ave. E., Shakopee, MN 55379.

Cost: $10 per adult or child for spaghetti dinner (one serving).
