What do a superhero, the 1980s and a Mariner have in common? They were all dress-up theme days at William Kelley Schools as part of homecoming week celebrations. Students were encouraged to dress up as their favorite 1980s fashion, superhero and to show their school spirit Sept. 30 to Oct. 3. Wednesday, Oct. 2, also happened to be school picture day, so students were encouraged to dress their best.

Festivities also included a varsity volleyball game, a pep fest and the coronation of homecoming royalty Thursday, Oct. 3. The results of the coronation weren't available at press time.

Homecoming celebrations will continue Friday, Oct. 4, as Age to Age and the William Kelley Schools student council have worked together to plan a tailgate party prior to the football game against Cook County Schools at 7 p.m.

The tailgate in the main parking lot will begin at 5 p.m. and feature food provided by the Northwoods Family Grille. There will also be a bake sale sponsored by the senior class.

Following the game, there will be the homecoming dance from 8:30-11:30 p.m. in the high school gym.
