Residents filed into the Knife River Recreation Center main building and field to celebrate the fall and raise funds for the Knife River Lutheran Church on Saturday, Sept. 7.
The annual Knife River Food and Fun Festival featured a mini-farmers market, children’s games, multi-family yard sale, cake walk, silent auction, food and dunk tank.
The dunk tank was a main feature of the event as prominent members of the community dressed as scuba divers, superheroes and the Swedish Chef and took a turn in the tank. For a $1 ticket, participants had three chances to make the dunk, though children were offered a chance to push the button if they missed all three.
Funds raised from the festival will go to the kitchen remodeling project at the Knife River Lutheran Church to make it a licensed kitchen.
