Celebrate Independence Day early in Isabella

Independence Day will be arriving a bit early for folks in Isabella.

The Isabella Friends of the Fourth Independence Day Celebration is scheduled to begin at noon Saturday, June 30, at Flathorn Lake.

The day’s events will begin with the national anthem followed by a barbecue with Dickey Singleton. There will be games, with pop and water provided and a “veteran board of honor.” Attendees are asked to bring an image of a veteran, past or present, to share on the board.

Attendees should also bring their own chairs and alcoholic beverages if they are over age 21. However, attendees should not bring pets to the celebration.

A potluck will be served at 5:30 p.m. Individuals are asked to bring a dish to share. If your last name starts with the letters A-G, bring a salad dish; H-M, a side dish; N-T, a dessert; and U-Z should bring chips.

In case of inclement weather, the event will shift to the Isabella Community Center. For questions, call 218-220-1475.
