Beaver Bay has been busy preparing for its third annual festival, Beaver Bay Daze, on Friday, Aug. 2, and Saturday, Aug. 3.
The festival began in 2017 to celebrate the city and raise funds for the Minnesota Veterans Home in Silver Bay.
Festivities will kick off Aug. 2 with a visit from the new food truck Na-Cho Bizness from 3-8 p.m. DJ's Houley and Mo will continue the celebration with karaoke from 8-11 p.m.; both events are at the Green Door Liquor Store parking lot, 1002 Main St.
On Aug. 3, Na-Cho Bizness will return along with other local craft and food vendors starting at 10 a.m.
The third annual Beaver River Run registration begins at 9 a.m. at the Green Door. Kickstands up at 11 a.m. The 100-mile motorcycle run will make several stops during its course, including the Veterans Home. Participants will receive a beaver patch for 2019.
Entry for the 100-mile motorcycle ride is $15 per person and includes a burger lunch. Funds raised will go to the Veterans Home.
The Beaver Bay Daze car show is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; awards and door prize drawings are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. The car show will take place across from the Camp 61 restaurant on Main Street.
Jeff Mitchell of the Sofa King band will present a jam session from 12:30-4 p.m. in the Green Door parking lot. Fellow artists are expected to join Mitchell under the canopy to jam together.
The festival will wrap up Aug. 3 with a performance by Mike Collard from 8-11 p.m.
