Minnesota Veterans Home-Silver Bay is pleased to announce a new partnership with Lake View Clinic. Two experienced physicians affiliated with Lake View Clinic will be providing on-site medical service to residents starting Aug. 8.

Dr. Tom Peterson will be the main provider for MVH-Silver Bay. Peterson is board-certified in family medicine and has been at Lake View Clinic for 30 years. He has a connection to veterans, both from a previous assignment covering the Silver Bay VA in 1992, and through his father, who was a World War II veteran.

Dr. Howard Josephs will fill in when Peterson is off. Josephs is also board-certified in family medicine and has been at Lake View Clinic for 28 years. Before beginning his career in medicine, Josephs was a plant and ship engineer. He also had a father who was a World War II veteran.

On-site physician coverage will be provided four to six hours, one day per week. The schedule for nurse practitioner Paula Chalupsky will remain the same. In addition, physician “on-call” coverage will continue without change seven days a week.

The MVH-Silver Bay serves 83 residents who are veterans.
