Shop local winners announced; 90k spent locally

The Two Harbors Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of its Shop Local contest today at True Value in Two Harbors. Local kids could sign up for the contest and anyone could support the kid of their choice by dropping off receipts for money spent locally. The kids in 1st, 4th and 10th place at the end of the contest won prizes. More than $90,000 worth of receipts were turned in over the course of the contest.

Paiten Koss and Lydia Lifto were the 1st place winners, getting Galaxy tablets. Wesley holbeck and Desirae Braun got the 4th place prizes, which were televisions. Jacob Keech and Taylor Jones got 10th place, which won them party packages with an array of gift certificates from local businesses.
