A car rests on an exposed culvert Wednesday at Clark Road and Silver Creek north of Two Harbors where the road washed out. East Alger Grade in the area also washed out as the creek swelled Tuesday night. Lake County officials said Thursday that at least a quarter of county roads were damaged by high water this week. Damage was estimated at $7 million. The driver of the car was hospitalized. There was no word on that person's condition. (Photo courtesy Carl Neer)
Thursday update on flood damage in Lake County

Old North Shore Road, inland from the Highway 61 Expressway at Homestead Road in Duluth Township, was completely washed out Wednesday morning at Schmidt Creek. While some roads may have remained intact during the storm, the next few weeks are expected to show how much hidden damage was done in the area.
