Agate relay teams outlast Denfeld

The Two Harbors-Silver Bay freestyle relay team scored a pair of victories over Duluth Denfeld in the Agates meet Tuesday at Lincoln Park Middle School in Duluth.

The 400 yard relay team of Riley Larson, Katarina Hanson, Kate Thomsen and Kaylee Overby won with a time of 3 minutes, 58.03 seconds and the same team won the 200 relay in 1:47.71.

Other winners at the Denfeld meet included Larson in the 200 freestyle in 2:09.52 and the 500 freestyle in 5:51.05; Thomasen in the 50 freestyle in 26.32 seconds and in the 100 freestyle in 57.24 seconds; Hanson won the 100 butterfly in 1:11.31; and Overby won the 100 breaststroke in 1:15.1.

On Saturday at the Taconite Invitational at Mesabi East High School in Aurora, Overby took the 200 individual medley in 2:24.04 and the 200 freestyle relay team of Larson, Hanson, Thomsen and Overby won in 1:47.35.

Finally, at the Grand Rapids Invitational Oct. 5, Larson won the 200 freestyle in 2:11.9 and the 500 freestyle in 5:59.14. Other winners at the Grand Rapids meet included: Thomsen in 50 freestyle in 26.19 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 57.52 seconds; and the 200 freestyle relay team of Thomasen, Hanson, Larson and Overby in 1:47.86.

Two Harbors-Silver Bay will swim again at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hibbing.
