12-U girls’ hockey takes third in home tourney

The North Shore girls’ 12-U team (combined Two Harbors and Silver Bay) took 3rd place in their home tournament in Silver Bay over the weekend of Jan. 4.

The girls got off to a great start with a 6-1 win against the Thunder Bay Magic on Saturday morning. Their second game of the day was against White Bear Lake Black. North Shore was down 6-2 going into the third period and battled their way back to tie it up 6-6 to put us into over-time. WBL was able to score in over-time and win 7-6 keeping North Shore out of the championship game on Sunday.

North Shore played Superior on Sunday and defeated them for 3rd place with a score of 3-0.

Congratulations also go out to Hibbing and White Bear Lake Black who took 1st and 2nd place respectively. Hibbing was able to edge out WBL in the Championship game with an over-time score of 3-2.
