Boys basketball: Agates fall to Blue Devils

Body:

Two Harbors' season came to an end Tuesday, March 6, in a 70-35 loss in the opening round of the Section 7AA playoffs to Virginia.

Two Harbors struggled with the Blue Devils' size inside, with all five starters standing over 6 feet tall and two players, Ethan Youso and Bryce Kennedy, at least 6 feet, 6 inches.

Jayden Bernard led the Blue Devils with 18 points and Nathan Fink had 14.

Jayden Ruberg led the Agates with 15 points and Carson Wenger had 10, including three 3-pointers.

The season was a struggle for the Agates, but there were some bright spots. Wenger, in particular, emerged as a secondary scoring threat to complement Ruberg and led the Agates in rebounding. In addition, Ricky Brenna also showed some flashes of offensive potential and with all three returning next season, Two Harbors has a nucleus of players that could dramatically improve their record.
