Softball: Two Harbors loses two of three

Two Harbors lost two of three games over the last week, falling to Virginia 16-6 Wednesday in six innings and to Carlton 2-1 May 11 and topping Cook County 12-2 in five innings May 12.

On Wednesday, Two Harbors jumped out to a 5-0 lead, but was outscored 16-1 over the final four innings of the game. Grace Hietala had a pair of RBIs and Ayla Lemke struck out four batters.

Against Carlton, Lemke allowed just two hits over six innings, but eight Agate errors and just one run produced by the offense negated the effort. Tori Bott had two hits and Brenna Gelineau had the lone Agate RBI.

Lemke had another performance against Cook County, allowing just four hits and two runs while striking out seven in the Agate win. Bott had three hits and three RBIs and Kaitlyn Underdale had two hits and two RBIs.

Two Harbors (8-6) had a game against McGregor postponed and played Mesabi East Thursday, too late for the News-Chronicle's deadline. The Agates will play Pine City at 11 a.m. Saturday in Two Harbors.
