Bayside Chatter: Storm players do well in all-star game

The White team beat the Gold team 4-2 to win the 19th annual St. Luke's high school All-Star game at Amsoil Arena Tuesday.

Scoring the winning goal for the White team was Tanner Ketola of the North Shore Storm. Assisting on the goal was Chad Nordean also of the Storm and Connor Stefan of Grand Rapids.

Last weeks state hockey tournament was probably one of the best ever, especially in class A. For the first time ever, all the championship round games in class A were competitive.

The Mariner softball team began practice on Monday mainly with pitchers and catchers.The whole team will be there this upcoming Monday. The track teams also began practice on Monday and the baseball team begins practice on March 20. The first baseball game is scheduled for April 11 at Cook County and the first softball game is scheduled for April 6 in Silver Bay versus Mountain Iron-Buhl.

The girls state basketball tournament is being held this week and next week is the boys state basketball which will conclude the winter sports season in high school athletics.
