Vikings 3rd at Polar League Conference meet

The Cook County/Two Harbors Vikings cross country team took third place at the Polar League Conference meet, hosted in Grand Marais last Wednesday.

Eighth-grader Kiviok Hight finished second for the varsity team and eighth-grader Jake Paron wasn't far behind, scoring third for the team.

Senior Owen Cruikshank placed 11th overall in the JV race and senior Drew Christensen placed 18th, both improving their times significantly from earlier in the season. Junior Everett Hommes placed 24th and sophomore Donovan Rigdon was 27th.

On the girls' side, sophomore Abigale Seipke placed third for the varsity team and sophomore Ruby Walsberg placed sixth. Exchange student Patricia Mueck placed 13th in the junior varsity race.

The team raced Tuesday at the Proctor Invitational and the Section 7A meet takes place next Thursday at Cloquet, determining who moves on to state.
