MARCH 7

Nathaniel William Ryan Storm, 29, of Two Harbors — Feb. 15, 2018, offenses: gross misdemeanor driving while impaired in the second degree, one year in jail, stayed 337 days for two years, credit for 17 days served, two years probation, $1,315 fees;  gross misdemeanor driving while impaired in the second degree, dismissed; petty misdemeanor speeding–exceed interstate limit 65 mph in urban 104/65; one year in jail, stayed 337 days for two years, credit for 17 days; misdemeanor no proof of insurance by driver, dismissed.

Derek Thomas Olson, 32, of Lakewood, Colo. — Dec. 12, 2017, offenses: gross misdemeanor third-degree driving while impaired–one aggravating factor, 364 days in jail, stayed 362 days for one year, credit for two days served, one year probation; misdemeanor DWI–operate motor vehicle with alcohol concentration 0.08 within two hours, dismissed.

Thomas Joseph Nelson, Jr., 27, of Duluth — Dec. 4, 2017, offenses: felony possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, 17 months in prison, stayed for five years, five years probation, $660 fees; petty misdemeanor possession or use of drug paraphernalia, dismissed.

MARCH 20

Hunter Scott Preston, 19, of Mountain Iron — May 24, 2017, offenses: felony theft of firearm, three years probation, $360 fees; misdemeanor theft, dismissed.

Matthew Christian Uremovich, 40, of Two Harbors — Sept. 17, 2017, offenses: felony possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, three years probation,$1,075 fees; misdemeanor driving while impaired in the fourth degree, 60 days in jail, stayed 60 days for two years, two years probation, complete MADD impact panel and DWI education class; petty misdemeanor possession or use of drug paraphernalia, dismissed.

Joshua Nathan Benvie, 34, of Two Harbors — Jan. 21, 2018, offenses: felony threats of violence, dismissed; misdemeanor domestic assault–intentionally inflicts/attempts to inflict bodily harm on another, 84 days in jail, credit for 57 days served, $160 fees.

Michael Scott James Olson, 36, of Superior — Feb. 24, 2017, offenses: gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation–inimical to public safety, two years probation, $85 fees; misdemeanor driver must carry proof of insurance when operating vehicle, dismissed.

Matthew Miles Wagner, 44, of Silver Bay — Dec. 9, 2017, offenses: gross misdemeanor obstructing legal process, two years probation, $2,160 fees, comply with ignition interlock program with location tracking capabilities; misdemeanor fifth-degree assault, dismissed; gross misdemeanor DWI–third-degree driving while impaired, two years probation; gross misdemeanor DWI–operate motor vehicle with alcohol concentration 0.08 within two hours, dismissed.

Michael Dale Lind, 62, of Two Harbors — Oct. 14, 2017, offenses: gross misdemeanor obstructing legal process, two years probation, $210 fees; misdemeanor domestic assault, dismissed; misdemeanor assault in the fifth degree, 90 days in jail, stayed 90 days for two years, two years probation, $50 fees; misdemeanor criminal damage to property in the fourth degree, dismissed.

MARCH 21

Ashley Jo Cover, 33, of Silver Bay — June 27, 2017, offense: felony damage to property in the first degree–value reduced over $1,000, diversion program, $1,075 fees.

Robert Michael Torgerson, 54, of Two Harbors — May 4, 2017, offenses: felony DWI in the first degree, 36 months in prison, stayed for seven years, seven years probation, 30 days in jail, waive if compliant with probation for one year, electronic monitoring with alcohol sensor unless ignition interlock is installed, complete MADD impact panel and DWI program, $1,160 fees; gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation–inimical to public safety, dismissed.

Lance Travis Roedel, 48, of Two Harbors — Dec. 17, 2017, offenses: felony threats of violence, one year, one day in prison, stayed for five years, five years probation, $210 fees; felony assault in the fifth degree, dismissed; gross misdemeanor possession of ammunition/any firearm, 365 days in jail, stayed 360 days for two years, credit for five days served, two years probation; gross misdemeanor possession of ammunition/any firearm–prior gross misdemeanor convictions and no subsequent convictions, dismissed; misdemeanor domestic assault, dismissed.

Katie Rohman is regional editor of the Pine Journal, the Lake County News-Chronicle and the Superior Telegram. She joined Forum Communications Company in October 2017. Rohman previously served as managing editor of two newspapers in Blair, Neb., and five newspapers in the Niles, Mich., area. She also worked at newspapers in Park Rapids and Austin, Minn., and Mayville, N.D. The South Dakota native has a bachelor's degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
