Hannah Baker of Silver Bay was awarded a scholarship from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. More than $760,000 was awarded to 380 students this year through the Stout University Foundation.

Madalynn Swanson was inducted into the Alpha Upsilon Gamma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Lake Superior College on Oct. 24. Swanson is majoring in administrative assistant and is the daughter of Janelle and Tom Dorf and Keir and Lynn Swanson of Two Harbors and Madison, Minn.

Lisa Harkins of Two Harbors was named to the summer 2016 dean's list at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. To receive the honor, students must achieve a 3.75 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale.

Annie Guiney of Two Harbors was announced as a recipient of the Marguerite Gilmore Scholarship. Recipients receive at least $40,000 over the course of four years if annual criteria is met. Candidates must be in the upper 8 percent of their class, with preference given to those planning careers in teaching, business or engineering and residing in Carlton, Cook, Lake, Pine or southern St. Louis counties. Applications for 2017 graduates will be available after Nov. 15 at www.csascholars.org.

Danielle L. DeNeui of Two Harbors was named to the honor roll at Oregon State University. To receive this honor, a student must achieve a 3.5 GPA or better and carry at least 12 graded hours of coursework.

Erin Anne Ashcroft of Two Harbors graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior with a bachelor's in social work.
