A Two Harbors man was arrested in October on several drug and firearm charges after the Two Harbors Police Department raided his home.
Dutch Ryan Friedt, 43, is charged with nine felonies: three counts of fifth-degree possession of controlled substances, two counts of fourth-degree sale of a controlled substance and four counts of a felon in possession of a firearm or ammunition.
According to the criminal complaint, at 9:39 a.m. Oct. 31, the THPD executed a warrant to search Friedt's vehicle and residence on Second Avenue for controlled substances. The THPD had been conducting an investigation into suspected controlled substance use and sales occurring at the home. A search of his trash yielded marijuana plant material.
After a THPD officer provided Moe with a copy of the warrant, Friedt was read his Miranda rights. He admitted that here were a number of controlled substances in the house, including 3 pounds of marijuana, and another pound in his vehicle. He also said he manufactured crack cocaine in the residence.
Friedt admitted to regularly selling up to 2 pounds of marijuana at a time. He also sold cocaine, but not crack.
Following the search officers found and collected more than 100 items, including 1.5 grams of cocaine; less than a gram of methamphetamine; approximately 7 pounds of marijuana; two rifles, a handgun and boxes of ammunition; and several items related to the use and sale of controlled substances.
Friedt has been convicted a felony crime of violence and is therefore ineligible to possess firearms and ammunition.
He was scheduled to appear in court Thursday, Jan. 18, but the hearing was canceled.
