DECA students advance to State

The Two Harbors High School DECA students participate in at the district competition on Feb. 6 in St. Cloud. Students competed in events such as employment interviewing, sales demonstrations, and team decision making. Several THHS students advanced onto the state competition, which will take place March 3-5 in Minneapolis.

Whitney Wasko, Allison Nowacki, and Dan O'Neil advanced in Employment Interview.

Asher Jenkins advanced in Economics in Marketing.

Hannah Johnson and Skylar Lysaker advanced in Public Speaking.

Allison Nowacki advanced in the Food Marketing Series event.

Asher Jenkins and Skylar Lysaker took first place in the Sports and Entertainment Marketing event.

Holly Nowacki and Dan O'Neil took second place in the Buying and Merchandising Management event while Hannah Johnson and Whitney Wasko took fifth in the same event. Both teams advance to state competition.

Ashley Lax and Alex Lemke took first place in the Marketing Communications event, with Nathan Mickelson and Will O'Neil taking fourth. Both teams will also advance.

Many of the same students will also present their chapter's Public Relations campaign, the See It! Say It! Stop It!,anti-bullying campaign, at the state competition.
