Agates drop two in week
The Agates played like two different teams in games last week. They found it tough going in a 68-55 loss to rival Cook County last Thursday but then picked up the pace and gave undefeated Virginia an early run for their money in an 82-55 loss the following night.
"We came out a little flat in Grand Marais and got out-hustled," said Two Harbors coach Jamie Otterblad. "We didn't use our height against them."
Matt Bruley led the way for the Agates with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
On Friday in Virginia, the Agates came out quick, shot 50 percent in the first half and went into halftime with a 36-35 lead over the Bluedevils.
"But then we got cold and they got hot," said Otterblad. "The guys showed we can play with anybody but we have to be able to do that over two halves."
Bruley and Fordes Lodin each had 17 points in the loss.
