6 North Shore beaches get OK from Minnesota Department of Health

The Minnesota Department of Health today lifted advisories recommending no contact with the water at six North Shore beaches after tests found that levels of fecal indicator bacteria have returned to acceptable levels.

The beaches are:

  • Paradise Beach north of Kadunce Creek
  • Kadunce Creek Beach at Kadunce Creek picnic area north of Grand Marais
  • Durfee Creek Area Beach 5½ miles east of Grand Marais
  • Old Shore Road Beach Area north of Grand Marais
  • Grand Marais Downtown Beach
  • Stewart River Beach north of Two Harbors

    Anyone who becomes ill after contact with beach water is asked to contact the Minnesota Department of Health at (877) 366-3455.
