There will be a wrap-up and Booya 2014 prep meeting on Monday evening, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Clair Nelson Center. There will be officer elections. This is an important meeting, everyone is welcome.

Congratulations to Josh and DeAnn (Striker) Philippi on the birth of their daughter, Megan Ann. Megan was born Oct. 1, weighing in at 6 pounds 10 ounces. She is 18 inches long and he proud big brother is Jakob.

This past weekend brought some nasty wind, rain, and cold to the area. Finland Fire Rescue however did hold its open house with live demos. Food and refreshments were served. The lucky prize drawing winners were Heidi Ellefson, Sully Tikkanen and Sidney Dubbin. Congratulations to them. Thank you to all that came out for this and to Tammy François for being such a good sport and patient in the car extraction demo.

Good news, the Little Marais River Bridge Hwy 61 project is on schedule, per Dan Erickson the project engineer and should be completed by Nov. 1.
