Dig Into Reading at your Library!

Keep DIGGING INTO READING at the Silver Bay Public Library! We have registered 125 readers and counting. It's not too late to join in the fun. We have been gardening, wood burning, crafting, telling stories, laughing, digging for prizes, puppet making, card making and more. Still to come are ice cream treats, an archeological dig, zoomobile, a visit from the Dinosaur Science Museum, a magic show with Norm Barnhart, arts and crafts, a rock hound's dig, teen tech program and lots more fun. Two Harbors Public Library

Summer Reading - Kids - The theme for June 24-28 is Underground Animals, which is perfect because the Zoomobile will be here Monday, June 24, at 1 p.m. Movie day is Tuesday, June 25, at 2:30. Tuesday evening we are holding a special lap-sit story time for our youngest patrons, ages 1-3, and their parents. All children in attendance will go home with a board book to keep. Older kids can visit the library on Thursday for an animal story time (ages 3-6) at 2:30 p.m., and an all-ages craft featuring the artwork of Jan Brett at 3 p.m.

Teen Corner: This is an exciting week for teens! Thursday, June 27, at 12:00 p.m., the Teen Anime Club will be meeting at the library to continue their latest series, and Friday, June 28, all teens are welcome to come to the library to compete on our Wii gaming system!

Poetry and Music: On Monday, June 24 at 6:30 p.m., the North Shore Poets will host a poetry reading plus music. Featured poets are Micky McGilligan, Diane Friebe, and Mary McReynolds, with a special guest poet from Virginia.

The Two Harbors Library is looking for a part time library aide to work 14-hours per week. The wage is $8 per hour and the position is not eligible for benefits. Deadline for application is Friday, June 28, 2013. The library aide is responsible for routine duties of limited difficulty here at our busy library. Examples include checking out and shelving items, processing and repairing items, assisting staff in selected projects. Typing and computer skills are required. The schedule is Wednesdays 4:15-8:15; Thursdays 2:45-5:15; Fridays 10:45-4:15
