Two Harbors Public Library News

Friends of the Library’s SPRING BOOK SALE

Friday, April 11 – Saturday, April 12

Friends of the Library is hosting a book sale in the library’s archives room! Don’t let the location fool you – we’ll still have plenty of newer books, audiobooks, and movies in the sale.

The sale will take place during normal library hours on the days of Friday, April 11 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Sat., April 12 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

If you would like to volunteer at the book sale, contact Micky at 834-4891. Also, donations of gently used books – no magazines, no Reader’s Digest condensed books, and nothing that smells or is too beat up to enjoy – are encouraged in these last couple of weeks leading up to the sale.

Book Discussion Updates

If you are interested in meeting other readers and you enjoy discussing a good story, then try attending one of the library’s book discussions. They’re open to the public. On Mon., April 14 at 6:30 p.m., we will discuss “The Tenant of Wildfell Hall,” a dark, gothic novel written by Anne Bronte.

Another possibility for discussion is on Thursday, April 17 at 1 p.m., when we will discuss “The Scarlet Letter,” a classic by Nathaniel Hawthorne. If you are looking for a more light-hearted, easy read, we will also host a Betsy-Tacy book talk and tea on Saturday, May 10 at 2:30 p.m. If you haven’t read any of these books yet, don’t worry – there’s still time!
