Book sale in the books

The Friends of the Two Harbors Public Library fall book sale was a great success. An estimated 5,000 books went to new homes and at last count, book sale proceeds totalled $2700.

In addition, 114 raffle tickets were sold at the book sale. Out of 1000 tickets printed, over 900 were sold for prizes donated by local artists and businesses.

Connie Post of New Brighton, Minn., won the blown glass piece made and donated by Mike Tonder, Eric Lindau of Two Harbors won the Cooter Pottery

covered jar, Tom Koehler's lacewood platter went to Francis Heid of Duluth, with the Love Your Library quilt from Louise Franzen going to Connie Jorgenson, Devil's Lake, N. Dak.

The event co-chairs thank all the voluntees who helped before, during, and after the sale. They would especially like to thank the Two Harbors High School Football team and coach Tom Nelson for their help in moving all those books to the community center! This sale would not have been possible without these contributions of volunteer time and energy.
