TH Walking Club tops a million steps in first week
Lake County SHIP Coordinator
The Healthy Two Harbors Walking Club logged over one million steps during its first week. Over 100 participants signed up for the club and half of them turned in log sheets. A closer estimate is that over two million steps were taken last week in and around Two Harbors. That’s a giant leap toward a healthier population.
The Walking Club will get together on Monday, Feb. 3, from 4-6 p.m. in the Two Harbors High School Community Room. Participants can come and go as they please, but the gathering will provide club members with the opportunity to turn in logs, get additional information on walking, pick up a pedometer if they did not already receive one, walk as a group and have some fun.
The new walking club began Jan. 13. Members committed to logging the steps or miles they walk each week, with no minimum requirement. On March 10, all the participants who succeeded in walking regularly will be entered into a drawing for prizes.
