TH celebrating solstice
Last Saturday evening about 25 people gathered around a bonfire on Agate Beach to observe the summer solstice. Attendees calculated that the day offered almost 16 hours of daylight, with sunset at 9:06 p.m. In spite of the heavy fog and mist, a warm fire, calm water, poetry reading, singing, drumming, hot dogs and sparklers made for an enjoyable event. According to organizer, Vicki Holisky-Crets, the evening’s final surprise came at 10 p.m., when an ore boat entered the harbor. Photos courtesy of Vicki Holisky-Crets.
