Someday, a hunt in the city

In discussions last week, the Two Harbors Public Affairs Committee was in support of following a path that Hermantown has when it comes to bow hunting within city limits.

"There are a lot of people up in age looking at doing this," said Chris Swanson, committee member, about the hunt that could begin next year. A lottery system was also discussed for the hunt and possibly having preference points for hunters near their own properties.

Some of possible locations for the hunt would be north of the golf course, Pamida and Harbor Hills areas. Hunting zones were also discussed near the Homewood edition on 20th Avenue and Heritage Creek.

"I don't want any golfers out there during hunting season," said Jason Kuettel, a committee member.

One area predicted to be deemed off-limits would be Lighthouse Point off Agate Bay.
