National Volunteer Week
April 6 -12 is National Volunteer Week, and it gives us the opportunity to recognize all of our dedicated volunteers for the extraordinary services they contribute to the library. Both adults and youth volunteer at the Two Harbors Public Library, for the Friends of the Library, and the Senior Outreach program. The useful work they do helps the library maximize its benefit to our community. Our library wouldn’t be nearly what it is without them. Thank you!
National Library Week
Next week, April 13 -19, is National Library Week. First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support.
All types of libraries - school, public, academic and special - participate. Visit your library and check out all the different types of materials and services available, and pick up a special bookmark or a color-changing pencil celebrating the Library as the Heart of the Community. We’re happy to be serving you, and hope you are just as happy to have us as a part of the community.
