Little people doing big things: Riley Niemi donates money
This week, Riley Niemi, 7, donated over $13 to the Two Harbors Area Food Shelf. His mom, Jennifer, said that Riley set up a stand and raised the money by selling cups of juice during the Heritage Days and the Minnesota Street Rod Association event last weekend.
Riley is a second grade student at North Shore Community School where Jennifer says he has a friend who is also an active philanthropist.
"I think he got his inspiration from Ellie Johnson. They're best buds," she said. Seven-year old Johnson raises funds and spends her own money to buy shoes for people in need.
Riley raised over $26 in all, and plans to donate the remaining $13 to North Shore Horizons. Photos submitted by Jennifer Niemi.
